Exciting New Office Web App Features coming to Office 365

From today all Office 365 customers will begin to see the latest Office Web App features, these are visable when working with  attachments and documents within Sharepoint and Exchange Online.

For the latest updates the focus has been about adding editing and formatting controls, consistent co-authoring/collaboration  support accross web apps and expanded device support, including touch-enabled editing from tablets.

Word Web App – new support for viewing and adding comments – graphics, images and layouts are much clearer with excellent fidelity.

Excel Web App – additional spreadsheet features such as the ability to merge cells, context menus, auto-fit columns, formula assistance, fill handle and Autosum.

PowerPoint Web App  Higher ressolution slides make presentations feel like they are on the desktop, full transitions and viewable comments, Audio and Video playback is now supported even on tablets or phones. Create polished presentations from the browser with the ability to insert images, apply transitions and animations.

OneNote Web App Ability to find or search on a page or within a section. Notes are easily shared as a URL, new support for ink viewing makes information more accessible from the web.

This is all very exciting and is being rolled out right now, for existing customers having new cool additional features and for those who arent on Office 365 another compelling reason to take a look and see what you are missing..
