Microsoft Teams has become a crucial part of everyday life. We’ve been chatting to our resident Teams expert David Bishop to find his favourite features for a more efficient work day…
Turn a chat into a task! This one comes in really handy – especially if you live in the to do list tab like we do! Let’s say someone asks you to ‘call a customer on Friday’ in a chat – simply right click on the message > more actions > add task. It’s that easy!
Oops.. hit send too fast? Noticed a typo too late? Did you know you can delete or edit your message? Click the message > the select three dots that appear > either edit or delete. It’s that simple! Noticed the typo straight away? Double tap the up arrow key on your keyboard and you’ll be able to edit your last message instantly.
Pop out chats – It’s quick and easy to pop out your one-on-one or group chat into a separate window. Then, resize, reposition, or close the window if you want to. It’s a good way to get more done when you’re in a meeting or in a call. We love efficiency!
Tags let you quickly reach a group of people all at once. You can categorise people based on attributes, such as role, project, skill, training, or location. For example, a “IT” or “Manager” or “Finance” tag will enable you to reach groups of people in Teams without having to type every single name. Create and manage tags in Teams Select Teams on the left side of the app and find your team in the list. Then select More options and choose Manage tags . Here, you can create tags and assign them to people on your team.
Does my camera work? Can you hear me? If you want to test your camera and microphone before you join a call? Use the Test call feature.
